So I have invested in some new computer hardware, not a much needed new iMac but a NAS for storing all my digital images. This will replace a rats nest of hard disks of various sizes currently residing under my computer desk. Have you noticed that when you buy a new-fangled gadget you believe will make your life easier it highlights deficiencies in other areas of your system and forces you into further credit card expenditure. Funny that.
With nothing better to occupy my time I’m considering having a big snapshot clear-out. A quick shufti through the filing cabinet reveals more than enough disastrous photoshoots with models who I should have known better than to hire and technical cockups aplenty. What was I thinking about! I suppose I could do some posts featuring one-off shots of a selection of different models, a sort of best of the worst, after all just because I don’t like the results doesn’t mean that everyone won’t like them. Wishful thinking Big Ears.
Money issues are mentally draining me. I need to finish off my pension arrangements and see just what spending clout I really do have. The returns on savings are truly shite at the moment and annuity rates are nose diving. George Osborne’s plan of letting you fritter away your pension pot seems like a good idea until you work out the tax implications. Doing a rough calculation results in something like a £85k tax bill for me. Fuck off George. All this makes the good old Bank Of Mattress look unbeatable!
