Final Cut Pro X. Episode 17.

How are things going with FCPX Big Ears? Ummm. Don’t ask. Slowly but surely I’m getting to grips with editing, transitions, titles, but some things are driving me potty. I’ve made a short movie to practice on and, ignoring the audio problems, it all looked ready to go until I studied the share options. When using iMovie I exported the film as a medium size/quality .mov or .mp4 but FCPX doesn’t seem to have anything similar. I’m now wondering if I’ve got to buy Compressor to be able to modify these defaults to get back to something like my usual settings. I suppose I could use one of the new fangled web options but will they work with my WordPress theme, and what about my bandwidth allowance. More work required methinks.

Tagging.

Nearly all blogs use some sort of tagging to help you navigate the content and big up the site in search engine rankings. I try and be sensible with my tags, I don’t see the point of being misleading because all you do is piss surfers off. The tags I apply to a post are usually the first five things that come into my head when looking at the images. I don’t at the moment tag the individual photos, that seems like hard work to me, I’m not going to be in the first hundred pages of the search results anyway. The only bit of indecision I have when tagging is how to classify the differences in the type of model. In the UK it’s difficult to make a full time living from internet modelling so few of the girls who have sat on the green sofa would have had careers that lasted much beyond a year so may be they all should be called amateurs.
